Sharpen your skills with this 6-week, hands-on class where you will learn the proper use of hand tools, including saws, chisels and planes. Class begins with instruction in the proper use of hand tools to cut dovetail and mortise and tenon joints, followed by time to practice the joinery techniques. We discuss where and when to use this type of joinery in furniture building. Students are required to bring a set of bench chisels, a dovetail saw, marking knife, and a small square to class. You can optionally bring a marking gauge, coping saw, or bevel gauge. We suggest you take the one-day Sharpening Hand Tools workshop prior to this class.
