Workshop Description
One of our friends once confessed that he had never learned to properly use basic hand tools like hammers and saws. We suspect he’s not alone! Adults are sometimes embarrassed to admit it, but our philosophy is that everyone was once a beginner.
In this half-day class, we cover how to select the right nails and properly use a hammer, how to choose the right screws, drill pilot holes and use both a hand screwdriver and power screwdriver, how to read a tape measure and use a square, and how to use a small hand saw.
Kids ages 10+ are welcome to take the class, but they must have a paying chaperone if under age 14.
Cost: $35 (including materials)
Meeting Times: 1 Saturday 8:00 – noon.
Prerequisite: None.
Please Bring: 12′ – 16′ tape measure, pencil and paper, and safety glasses/ear protection if you have them. You can also bring your own portable drill/screwdriver if you own one.
